​REASONS FOR ENGAGING IN THE SWINGER LIFESTYLE 

Swingers do not see love and sex as the same thing. Additionally, they don’t look upon one another as a possession to keep locked away. Swingers have lasting relationships in the same way others do, by being in relationships with compatible partners, practicing good communication and problem-solving, treating each other with compassion and respect, and developing good tools for dealing with conflict. Having sex with other people does not mean your relationship won’t last.

Being monogamous doesn’t mean your relationship will last. As a swinger, you can swap partners with other couples or possibly have threesomes, but emotions don't get involved. There are no solo dates with the people you swap with. There's also no "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

​The reason for engaging in the Swingers lifestyle is because Swingers have the lowest number of divorces because there is no reason to cheat. They enjoy other people with their partners consent and most times participate. Swinging is the ultimate pleasure, and they can separate sex from love. Another aspect of being successful in the lifestyle is clear communication with your partner. You will find yourself undoubtedly faced with a situation where one partner agrees, and the other does not want to swing with a particular couple. You must have predetermined rules about the decision process. No one wants to be put on the spot in the heat of the moment to take one for the team.

There are many sub classifications and preferences in the Swinger lifestyle:

• Soft swap- this is the mildest form of active swinging. In soft swap, generally only the female of the couple has contact with the other couple’s female. Intercourse will only be with your own partner, but in the same room. It can be a good way to get your feet wet and if you like watching others and being watched, it can be really rewarding. You may find the more experienced couples in the lifestyle will pass on soft swap couples.
• Full Swap same room-in this scenario, the couples pair up with the opposite couples’ partner. The only restriction is they remain in the same room, within sight of one another.
• Full Swap-In this scenario each partner pairs up with the opposite partner of a couple and they may have sex out of sight of one another. They may be in separate rooms, separate houses, they may go on separate dates. It pretty much is only restricted to the agreed-upon rules of the couple. This is the broadest, most free form of the lifestyle. 

You must think of these classifications as existing on a continuum. There are multiple permutations of any classification depending on the couple involved and their comfort level.

It can be really rewarding if approached with clear communication, ground rules, respect for your partner, good hygiene, and a friendly demeanor.
